EDUCATION DESIGN

Helping people open doors through education has been the animating purpose of my career. I’ve designed programs to teach income statements to plumbers, marketing to artists, & game design to insurance company managers.

I have a knack for distilling complexity into actionable knowledge. Here are a few examples.

Employee Ownership Education at Teamshares

Teamshares buys small businesses and transitions them to employee ownership. Upon purchase, employees receive 10% ownership and start learning how their business operates and how they contribute to its success.

Teamshares' mission comes with unique challenges: educating employees who were often excluded from understanding the business under previous ownership, have limited formal education, and work across diverse industries—from flower distributors to BBQ joints. My role is to design scalable, practical, and high-quality education that is consistent across the network.

When I joined, Teamshares had 4 businesses; today, there are over 100. I’ve led education through this rapid growth—defining the vision, developing tailored training materials, equipping leaders to teach effectively, & adapting programs to scale with growth.

Teamshares has returned over $4 million to employee owners so far. I’m proud to contribute to a company taking tangible steps to reduce income inequality.

These programs are exclusive to Teamshares employee owners,

Launching Indie Games at the NYU Game Center Incubator

I founded and directed an incubator for financially sustainable independent game development. I recruited a 100+ member advisory board of industry professionals, raised over $1 million in public and private investment, and helped 45+ teams secure funding and launch games.

Drawing on our network of advisors, I created personalized education programs for each team, guiding them in maintaining their creative vision, finding their audience, and getting to market.

Establishing the standard for game design education at the NYU Game Center

I was a founding member of NYU’s Department of Game Design. We grew from a two-class pilot to one of the top ranked graduate & undergrad game design programs in the world.

We defined the vision for a department in an emerging field and set the curriculum that is now the standard for game design education.
